What to expect

Hair restoration is typically a 4 to 6 hour procedure, depending on the number of hair follicles. There are no incisions and the procedure is performed with a local anesthetic for your comfort. Once you’re comfortable, the process begins by harvesting the donor hair follicles—this component can take 2 to 4 hours. After the follicles are extracted, they are placed into balding and thinning areas in a natural-looking pattern.

Following the procedure, you may experience some swelling, bruising, or a scaly, itchy scalp. Those reactions are normal and usually disappear within a week. In the first few weeks, some or all of the transplanted hairs may fall out—this is normal, and means the hair follicles are healthy. Your newly transplanted hair will begin to grow in 3 to 4 months, and will be fully grown within 12 months. Some patients opt for continued maintenance, and if your balding pattern continues with age, you may need additional sessions in the future. Cost is $5/Follicle.
